Where to visit in Cumbria

by Don

Cumbria is one of the loveliest areas in the whole United Kingdom and the Lakes are an absolutely stunning advert for the beauty of our land. If you are planning to have a holiday in the British Isles this year or next, then this is the area you should be considering!

One of the nicest places to visit it the town of Keswick, in the northern Lakes. This old market town has been a town since the 1q3th century, and over the course of the years has developed into a beautiful little place. The town itself has everything you could possibly need when it comes to amenities and provisions, and it is an excellent hub when it comes to exploring the local area.

When you are in the town you cannot help but be mesmerised by the sight of Skiddaw and Lonscale fells, two truly amazing sights and the location of many a challenging walk. Nearby you will also find Derwentwater, and the fascinating Castlerigg Stone Circle is just a spit away from the town.

Accommodation is generally easy to find in the area and tends to be of a high quality, despite the relatively low costs you will find. There are numerous Keswick Cottages available for rent, and staying in one of these tends to give a bit more authenticity in terms of the sort of holiday you will be having. This is the only real way to feel as if you are a part of the place, and when you come back from a long walk, you will relish coming back to a nice warm home.
